FONN is a Scottish gaelic word that has two meanings: “Off the land” and “melody”

OFF THE LAND:

I’ve learned that when giving a treatment, it’s essential to be grounded and fully present—feeling the land beneath me and growing my energetic roots. Krishnamurti once said, “attention is the most basic form of love,” and it’s true: when we pay attention, our hearts open naturally, and we connect in a more whole and authentic way.

Over the years, I’ve studied many massage techniques - powerful tools indeed - but the most profound lesson has been the importance of simply being here. Not just physically, but out of my head, into my body and heart, fully embodied and attuned to my nervous system, listening to my client with my whole being.

A position of grounding provides me with the clarity and stability to feel into the practical techniques that I tailor to meet the needs of each client. Being “off the land” is fundamental to my practise.

MELODY:

Music was my first love, with singing a close second. Both have given me release, solace, and security over the years. Recently, I began studying how sound and frequency affect the human system, with the intention of weaving my musical experience into my therapeutic practice. I am now a qualified sound therapist.

We are vibrational beings—made of energy. At the most fundamental level, our cells, molecules, atoms, and even subatomic particles like quarks are in constant motion, vibrating. Sometimes we resonate, moving in harmony; other times, we fall into discord. We naturally tune into each other’s vibrations, engaging in an unconscious dance—sensing rhythms, smoothing anxieties, or providing space for stillness and restoration.

Part of my practice is learning to consciously feel this dance, to listen for a client’s unique melody. The softer and more undulating our frequencies, the more we can yield and attune to others—creating calm, restorative spaces. FONN is all about soft, rounded waves: a place to rest, physically and energetically.

Therapeutic sound has become a staple in my treatments, I use tuning forks and singing bowls to support an expansion in the cients system.

I also curate and mix my “Meanderscapes”, soundscapes that guide the system into rest, playing them during treatments to provide a sonic landscape for the mind to wander while the body releases.
